Kim studied BA(hons)Textiles and Surface Design at CCAD and, following graduation, began to explore print techniques that could be applied both to paper and fabric without the need for expensive specialist equipment. Kim’s use of the cyanotype process combines plants and found objects, with hand drawn and photographic elements, to create etherial images on paper and fabric. The addition of embroidered detail is a nod to her textile training and interpretations of “stitch” - to create, mend, secure and embellish.

Personal stories mixed with northern myths and folklore as well as the constantly changing visual delights of the Lake District mountains, flora and fauna, provide the inspiration for original pieces, drawings, illustrations and beautiful hand printed gifts.

Kim is a member of Cumbria Printmakers and has also exhibited her work widely throughout the UK.
Her book “A Beginner’s Guide to Cyanotype” was published by Search Press in May 2024.
