Cyanotype Workshop Morning - Saturday October 21st

After 7 years teaching courses at various lovely venues, including an appearance on BBC Countrfile with Joe Crowley at Dove Cottage, Grasmere, I’m finally able to offer workshops for small groups in my own space. Because everything is set up and ready I’m hoping that these sessions will be relaxed and informal, with the option to work at a pace which suits your group.
The studio is a two storey building at the busy Braithwaite Farm Units site, with uninterrupted views towards Skiddaw. Groups will be very small - just 2-3 people (partly because I only have 4 chairs!) , so we will have plenty of time and space to really explore the technique as well as spending time chatting, drinking endless cups of tea, inspiring each other and looking at the view!
All materials included.
Suitable for all abilities.
Unlimited Tea, Coffee and biscuits.
You will learn about the history of the process, how to mix the solution to coat a variety of surfaces, prepare and print a large selection of paper to use as greetings cards or other creative projects.
Getting Here
BUS - The X5 bus stops in Braithwaite and its just a short walk down to the farm
DRIVING/WALKING/CYCLING - Heading West on the A66 don’t go into Braithwaite but look out for the Village Hall on your right. Turn right immediately after the hall. Heading East on the A66,look out for a sign for Thornthwaite with a blue and white “KCS” sticker on your left. Turn left just before the Village Hall.
Unit 10 is at the very bottom the lane, first on your right as you turn in. Please remember this is a busy working farm and park/drive carefully.
Accessibility
The studio has level access but unfortunately the toilet is upstairs so not accessible if you have limited mobility.
I am happy to run the session in a Covid aware way if you are particularly vulnerable (including taking a LFT) , masks and hand gel are provided and the building is well ventilated. As a courtesy please do not attend if you have any suspicious symptoms!
