This little card was designed from sketches made during the early months of 2021 when we were in the process of losing our home, for the second time in just 6 years. We had been served a Section 21 notice, a “no fault” eviction which means a landlord can give you notice to leave without any reason.

Section 21 notices are meant to protect landlords and place no blame on the tenant but the stigma and financial consequences remain and too often landlords misuse the process to avoid making vital repairs and improvements ( and in 2021, in the era of COVID, there are many anecdotal examples of long term tenants being evicted in favour of more lucrative holiday lets, especially in Cornwall, Cumbria and other desirable rural areas)

This is my tiny contribution to raising awareness of the problems around private renting and 10% (50% during the Great Charity Pot and Print Fair) from every sale will be donated to Shelter who offer help and advice as well as campaigning for better regulation of private landlords and changes in the law around Section 21.
