Crafted by Hand Online Show 2020
Due to the pandemic one of my favourite events had to be cancelled, along with most of the things that I’d optimistically pencilled into my shiny new business planner in January 2020. Crafted by Hand is organised by artist Josie Beszant of Masham Gallery and ceramicist Charlotte Morrison and is THE most lovely day out in the North Yorkshire market town of Masham - also famous for sheep fairs, steam rallies, beer and the wonderful Johnny Baghdad’s Cafe in the Square .
I love the social aspect of the event and I’m really going to miss chatting with all the other participants as well as meeting old friends and customers face to face ( even hermits like to get out occasionally and the positive feedback from real people is always useful and encouraging). I’ve made friends here, eaten too much/not enough cake, panicked about fitting all my stuff in the car, forgotten my table covering, sold lots of pictures, worried about not selling enough, laughed like a loon and drunk way too much coffee- so it’s going to be hard to recreate that online…. I’m going to try though.
Anyway, I’ve been making a special #CBHOnlineShow section in my web shop which will only be open on the weekend of July 4-5th. Everything I sell over the weekend will be gift wrapped and include a little extra something to make it feel special…I can’t promise cake but I will be drinking coffee and sharing images throughout the day on my Instagram stories (as will all the other artists and makers who would have been there).
If you visit the Crafted by Hand website there are links to all the amazing people taking part as well as more information on the online event and how we hope it will work. I hope you can make it, I miss you. x
