An original cyanotype print on heavyweight watercolour paper with hand stitched details.
I drew these swans when I was commissioned to illustrate The Ugly Duckling in 2018, inspired by the swans on Grasmere - Henry Swan and his wife. Each print is totally unique due to the nature of the process, the light, the plants used and the amount of time the print is exposed for. Details are stitched by hand using cotton threads. Unlike other forms of printmaking each print is one of a kind .
