Cyanotype Workshop for 2 - date by arrangement

My lovely studio is now back at home which suits me better but space to run workshops is limited. Because there has been a lot of interest since the publication of Beginner's Guide to Cyanotype I've decided to offer a limited number of private sessions by arrangement. I can only comfortably accommodate 1 or 2 participants and although there is good access, a separate entrance and up to date insurance (!), participants should be aware that this is a domestic setting and expect a professional but relaxed atmosphere. Suitable for all abilities.
Unlimited Tea, Coffee and biscuits and a simple vegetarian lunch.
You will learn about the history of the process, how to mix the solution to coat a variety of surfaces, prepare and print a large selection of paper to use as greetings cards or other creative projects and explore ways of mark making on transparent surfaces to make negatives. If you have a specific area of interest (using photograpic imagery for example) do let me know before the session. If the weather is good we will work outside some of the time and use plants from the garden and hedgerow.
Getting Here
1 Red How is on the Thackthwaite road between Low Lorton and Loweswater. The road is signposted Route 71 on the Sustrans cycle network, part of the coast to coast route. There is no public transport but in summer it is possible to get the 77/77a bus to Low Lorton and I can meet you.
Driving from Lorton we are on the left, just under 2 miles from the junction at Low Lorton. Look out for a white house with an old metal drinking trough on the grass outside as you round a bend just after Thackthwaite.
What to bring.
I will provide everything you need as well as refreshments (let me know if you have any dietary requirements)
I will make a simple vegetarian lunch or you can bring a packed lunch , alternatively the Kirkstile Inn is a 5 minute drive if you want to break up the day.
You might want to bring an apron, although the process isn’t that messy, and any objects you would like to try printing with.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you can’t attend. I will refund in full or offer an alternative date/ website credit if you prefer.
If I need to cancel I will contact you and offer a full refund.
